Christmas Holidays
Amanda January 28th, 2008
It’s been a while, I know. Anyway, we went away for Christmas. First time for seven years that we spent Christmas in NSW. After driving 6700km -YES six thousand, seven hundred kilometres- we now know why we don’t do this very often.
Next year, we are going on the house boat instead.
The good things about going away were:
- the drive down
- discovering audio books for long drives
- remembering how beautiful Fitzroy Falls are
- seeing green grass
- seeing rivers full of water, not sand
- spending Christmas Day at my brother’s place
- catching up with friends and family
The bad things about going away were:
- driving 6700 km
- driving back to Alice Springs
- going into Sydney city during the post-Xmas sales (madness!!)
- coming home to find out that neither of us were successful in our recent job applications
Liam, Emily & Ben in Pete’s pool The Holbrook class submarine at Holbrook, NSW
Some other interesting things we discovered:
- Gary likes Ikea
- Half the population of Sydney and the ACT were shopping in Coles Ulladulla on New Year’s Eve
- There are too many bloody people in NSW!
- Matthew Reilly books are much better as audio books than literature
- The swimming pool at Cadney Park is awesome
- The Big Merino in Goulburn HAS BEEN MOVED down the road about a km!
So, there you go. That’s our first post of 2008. Sorry about the dot points, I’ll write properly next time.
